Jelly history – but are they history?

Jelly shoes or  more commonly known as “jellies” are shoes made from PVC plastic.  Jelly shoes come in a large variety of brands and colors and can also be infused with glitter. The jelly shoe became a fad in the mid 1980′s, the days when colour burst into the fashion world (and not to mention many more things “burst” such as hair and shoulder pads!).

Like many fashion trends, jelly shoes made a come back in the late 1990′s and then again in 2003 gaining a snow ball effect of popularity because of  the wider range of colour, shapes and embellishments that were available to choose from. For a while now they’ve dissapeared but are slowly making their come back.

The only question left to ask now is are they here to stay?

These red jelly shoes pictured are available from www.lovelyshoes.com.au for $24.95 with FREE EXPRESS POST SHIPPING within Australia.
